Japan's Friendship - a band born of overwhelming hardcore aggression and hate, all channelled through a wall of distorted Orange amps.
Friendship return to the UK in March 2020, following their first visit in September 2018 which saw a week-long tour with fellow countrymen, Palm.
This was the talk of the UK underground for weeks after, with the band whipping up a violent maelstrom at every show. Fans travelled across the country to witness this mysterious entity perform, with their reputation spreading far and wide by word of mouth alone.
Since then Friendship have released Undercurrent through Southern Lord, an even more muscular and visceral listen than their legendary Hatred LP in 2017.
CVLT Nation said: "Undercurrent is an onslaught of sludged-out hardcore that has caught the attention of every major US and EU band touring Japan. There are no trends in these riffs, just pure fucking insanity." One YouTube commenter said: "Saw these guys play in London some time last year and it was actually terrifying."
Support comes in the form of Kurokuma, a kaleidoscopic yet pulverising sludge trio from Sheffield who will provide the slow to Friendship's fast.
With a worthy Orange backline in tow, this tour, which includes a headline slot at Dreadfest in Leeds, is guaranteed to shake the foundations of the UK underground once again in March. Do not miss this.
